Information: RAVENSWOOD - Matthew Wayne Short, 47, of Ravenswood, died.  He was born October 16, 1958 in Jackson County, a son of Eli Short and Evelyn Hinzman Short.  He was employed at Hall's Electric as an Electrician's Assistant.  He loved to fish and hunt.  Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Hammond Short of Ravenswood; father, Eli Short of Gay; sons, Adam Wayne Short of Huntington  and Travis Young of Ripley; raised like a daughter, Sydney Roberts; brother, Michael Short of Florida; special uncle who raised him, Wayne Hinzman; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother and his uncle, Wayne.  Funeral services were held at 12  pm Sunday, June 18, 2006, at the Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Roush Funeral Home to help the family with expenses.  Condolences may be expressed to the Short family at roush1us2000@yahoo.com.
