  <p>Information:      Shirley, Virginia Orva Morris                    Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Orva Shirley, 49, who died last Saturday after being a patient for several weeks in Pinecrest Sanitorium in Beckley, were held Monday morning from the Hopewell Baptist Church at Mt. Alto with the Rev. I. J. McCollum officiating and the burial was in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Shirley was born in Jackson County on July 6, 1900, a daughter of J. H. and Margaret Casto Morris.  On June 13, 1929 she married Norman Shirley, who with the following survive:  a son, Harold Shirley, and a daughter, Janell Shirley, both at home; two brothers, Oshel Morris of Youngstown and Wendell Morris of Ripley; two sisters, Ova Stephens of Gay and Orza Stover of Ripley, and her father, J. H. Morris, also of Ripley.  Two children, John and Violet, preceded her in death.  (Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection)     </p>
