Information:      John Oliver Shinn, born August 4, 1873, died June 9, 1946, age 73 years, 10 months and four days.  He was the son of Allen and Sarah Ann Sayre Shinn, was born and lived in the community all his life.  He was married to Flora C. Dunlap on March 22, 1892, to this union was born eight children, one son dying in infancy, and Robert B. in 1935 at Columbus, Ohio.  He was again married to Mrs. Nora Hysell, of Pomeroy, Ohio, and to them were born one son and a daughter, dying at birth.  The widow and the following children survive:  Howard A., Mrs. Daisy Stone and Mrs. George Stover, all of Columbus, Ohio, Paul J. and Mrs. Mabel Cossin of Cottageville, and Mrs. Art Ingle of Los Angeles, Calif., and Oliver J.,at home; two brothers and four sisters, 32 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one step-son, and a host of other relatives and friends.  He was a good husband and father, kind neighbor and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.  He had been in failing health for almost a year and the last days of his life also.
