  <p>Information: Alice Shinn, 83, of Highlawn Heights, Ripley, was claimed Nov. 18, 1994 at Jackson General Hospital after a long illness.  Mrs. Shinn was a former school teacher, a member of the Jackson General Hospital auxiliary, a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the parsonage committee, former Jackson County Chapter Chairman for the American Cancer Society and a homemaker.  Survivors include her husband, Perry Shinn of Ripley; one son, James Pat Shinn of Charleston; one sister, Mrs. Texie Smith of Charleston and one grandson, James P. Shinn, Jr.  Services were Sunday at Parsons Funeral Home with the Rev. Hubert Groves officiating.  Burial was at Fairplain Cemetery.                    *She was born at Kenna, daughter of the late Clyde and Sorah Corbin Smith.</p>
