  <p>Information: RIPLEY- Kenna Edward Shields, 68, of Ripley, died Monday, September 14, 1998, at his home following a long illness.  He was born August 7, 1930, at Liverpool, Roane County, a son of the late Edward and Mary Shields.  He was a Carpenter for Local 1159 of Pt. Pleasant.  He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict where he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and was a member of the Ripley Tabernacle Church.  He is survived by his wife, Wavy Parsons Shields; a son, Ronnie Shields of Evans; two daughters, Ruth Ann Hutchison and Ruby Hicks, both of Ripley; three sisters, Ruth Phillips of Parkersburg, Georgia Gulliford of Columbus, and Edra Wickiser of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Rady Shields.  Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday (today), September 16, 1998, at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Mark Siers officiating.  Burial with Military Gravesite Rites by VFW Post 6669, Ravenswood.</p>
