Information: SHIELDS RITES AT MOUNT ZION - Funeral services for Edward A. Shields, who died at his home at Liverpool RFD on Christmas day, were held from the Mt. Zion Methodist church on Thursday with Rev. D. C. Guthrie officiating and burial with the Vail undertakers in charge was in the church cemetery.  Mr. Shields died after a lengthy illness.  He was 75 years, 3 months and 2 days of age at the time of his death.  He was born in Jackson county on September 23, 1887, a son of George and Julia Forman Shields.  He spent his life in the county and was engaged in farming.  He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist church.  Survivors include his wife, Mary Milhoan Shields; two sons, Robert, at home and Kenna Shields of Ripley; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Phillips of Waverly, Mrs. Rowena Phillips of Apple Creek, Ohio, Mrs. George Guillford of Shelby, Ohio, and Mrs. Edna Wickiser of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; 24 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
