  <p>Information: L. Clare Sheppard, 100, of Route 1, Elizabeth, died Aug. 27 in Sheppard Healthcare, Inc. at Ellenboro, W. Va.  He was born in Pee Wee, Wirt County, a son of the late Paschal and Lucy Somerville Sheppard.  He and his wife, Mamie Myers Sheppard, had celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary in June 1986.  He was a member of the Sheppard&#39;s Chapel United Methodist Church, Wiseburg, W. Va., where he was a member for 50 years.  He was a member of Ashton Lodge AF & AM #12 of Ravenswood, receiving a 50 year pin.  He was a former Jackson County schoolteacher and was formerly employed by the Carnegie Gas and Carbon Gas.  He and his wife owned and operated the Roadside Produce Stand for 40 years.  He was also a farmer.  Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Blaine Sheppard of Elizabeth, Paul Sheppard of Rockport, and Paschal Sheppard of Ellenboro; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one daughter.  Services were Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. William Anderson and the Rev. Charlie Burton officiating.  Burial was in Ravenswood Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.</p>
