  <p>Information: RIPLEY - Jewell G. Shamblin, 78, of Ripley, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at Jackson General Hospital, following a long illness.  She was born July 2, 1925, at Romance, a daughter of the late Glenn and Anna Jones Hamon.  She was a homemaker and a devoted mother.  During World War II she worked for the Defense Department.  In addiiton to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olaf Shamblin.  She is survived by ten children including daughters, Shirley Coleman of Beckley, Carolyn Ray of Romance and Virginia ""Jenny"" Dillard of Liberty; sons, Leroy and Greg, both of Ripley, Harold ""Shorty"" and Kenvil, both of Romance, Luther ""Cricket"", Jack and Gary ""Rabbit"" Shamblin, all of Sissonville; sisters, Kathryn Frisby of Ruston LA and Donna Sanford of Houston TX; brothers, Curtis Hammond of West Monroe LA and Joe Hammon of Logansport LA; 30 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services were Sunday, February 15, 2004, at the Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.</p>
