Information: SCHOOL BOY DIES SUDDENLY - The serious condition of Jackson county's country or secondary roads today were being blamed on contributing to the death of Carl Shamblin, 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Doy Shamblin of Sissonville, who died in a Charleston hospital Monday morning following an attack of appendicitis. The small boy, a pupil at the Goff school, became ill last Friday night, but did not appear to be serious. The following morning, however, when his condition became worse, his parents made efforts to secure the aid of a physician, but neighbors said the roads were in such bad condition that a physician did not reach the home until Sunday morning. Dr. W. J. Glass of Sissonville pronounced the case appendicitis and said that the tot's condition was serious. As quickly as the bad roads permitted he was taken to a Charleston hospital where he died one day later. Besides his parents, Carl is survived by four brothers: James, Owens, Robert, and a baby brother, and one sister, all at home, one grandparent, G. W. Shamblin of Sissonville, twelve uncles and six aunts.
