  <p>Information: Doyle Clifford Shaffer, 76, of Ripley, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012, at his home following a short illness.  He was born March 12, 1936 at Alum Creek, a son of the late Hurl and Mable Shaffer.  He retired from the maintenance staff of the Jackson County Board of Education and was a faithful member of the Ripley Baptist Temple.  Doyle was also very active with the Ripley Senior Citizens.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Katie Shaffer.  He is survived by brothers, Shelby Shaffer of Charleston and Larry Shaffer of North Carolina; sisters, Violet Fields of Florida and Carol Burgess of Charleston; niece Terry Milam and her husband Carl of Ripley.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating.  Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.  Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to the famly by visiting www.waybrightfuneralhome.com.</p>
