Information: Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Mercer See, widow of the late George See, were held Monday morning at the Smith M. E. church in Mason county with Rev. Ira Mentz officiating, assisted by Rev. William Casto.  Burial was in the cemetery there with the Vail Mortuary in charge.  Mrs. See, a member of a pioneer family of Mason county, died on Saturday, April 5, after a protracted illness.  She was 75 years, 9 months and 2 days old at the time of her death.  A daughter of Moses and Margaret Beattie, she was born at Pittsburgh, Pa. on July 3, 1865.  She was united in marriage to George See on April 23, 1885.  To this union nine children were born, five of whom, Emma. Lora, Alva, Carl, and Thomas N. See, preceded her in death.  The husband died on April 29, 1935.  She is survived by four children, Mrs. Maggie Smith of Leon Rt. 1, Mrs. Lizzie Combs of Dunbar, Mrs. Iva Durst of Leon Rt. 1, and Mrs. Icel Moore of Mason City; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Beattie; two half-brothers, James and Adam McClure, and a host of relatives and friends.
