Obituary Date: 1935-03-29

Information: Leonard Scarberry, a resident of Ripley and vicinity until a few years ago, was killed early last Saturday morning at the home of Mrs. Ira Rollins in Parkersburg, when, according to the woman, he was making an effort to enter her home where she and her two children were alone. After a coroners jury investigated the case Saturday afternoon, the woman was released on the order of the Wood County Prosecuting Attorney, who said it would be useless under the circumstances to lodge  a charge against her.  The funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Parkersburg and the body was buried there.  Scarberry is survived by his widow, two sons and seven daughters, Edith, John, Margaret, Sibyl, Cora, Mildred, Belle, Lewis and Patricia; one sister, Mrs. Belle Casto of Ripley; one brother, Howard Scarberry, also of Ripley.
