Information: WE HAVE A NEWSPAPER CLIPPING OF THIS OBITUARY BUT WITH NO DATE. WE COULD NOT PUT IT ON THIS SITE WITHOUT A DATE, THEREFORE, WE MADE UP THE ABOVE DATE. OTHER OBITS ON THE PAGE WERE FROM 1912-1916. LET US KNOW IF YOU HAVE AN ACTUAL DATE FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL'S DEATH. Edith Irene Scarberry, aged three years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Scarberry, who live on Judge Warren Miller's farm near Willow Grove fell into the cistern last Saturday forenoon and was drowned before she could be rescued. The pump had been taken out of the cistern just a few days previous and a rope fastened to a bucket was being used to draw the water. The mother was busy with the morning work and it is thought that the little girl, who was playing about the yard, had attempted to let the bucket in the well and that the rope became entangled about her body, dragging her into the cistern. The funeral was held at the home Sundady and burial made in the cemetery on Cow Run.
