Information: Virgil Asbury Sayre, 78, of Akron, formerly of Jackson County, died Sunday in Middlebury Nursing Home, Akron, after a long illness.  He was a retired saw mill operator.  Surviving:  wife, Sarah Kirk Sayre of Parkersburg; daughters, Mrs. Mary Blankenship, Mrs. Norma Browder, and Mrs. Lillian Heater of Akron, Mrs. Ruth Swearingen of Parkersburg, Mrs. Drexal Jones of Charleston; sons, Dewey of Columbus, Charles of Phoenix, Ariz., and Clarence of Akron.  Service will be held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with Minister Warren Varner officiating.  Burial will be in Sayre Cemetery at Cow Run.
