Information: Funeral services for Mrs. Susan E. Sayre, 84, wife of Ezekiel Sayre of Leon, were held from the Creston church, Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Donald Lockhart in charge and the burial was in the church cemetery.  The Vail undertakers were in charge of the arrangements.  Mrs. Sayre died at her home on Monday night after a long illness.  She was the daughter of John and Nancy Hunt Barr and was born in Virginia on February 29, 1868, and eleven days before her death, had observed her actual birthday for the 21st time despite her 84 years.  That was because the birthday anniversary was on February 29, and she had only an actual birthday every four years.  On March 14, 1889 she married Ezekiel Sayre, who survives, as do the following:  two sons, John of Evans and Shirley of Leon; eight daughters, Mrs. Virgil McKinney of Pt. Pleasant, Mrs. Esther Stephens of Leon, Mrs. Nancy Smith of Leon, Mrs. Katie Bever of Leon, Mrs. Rushie McDade of Columbus, Mrs. Jessie Sayre of Clarksburg, Mrs. Olie Williams of Columbus, and Mrs. Nellie Adkins of Letart; a sister, Mrs. Minerva Sayre of Gaston, Indiana; 26 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
