Information: "Let not your hearts be troubled, ye believe in God; believe also in me. In My Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you: I go to prepare a place for you; and if I go and prepare a place for you,I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am there ye shall be also"" Joel Francis Sayre, youngest son of Joel and Malinda Sayre, was born in Jackson county West Virginia, June the fifth, 1866. Departed this life September the fifth, 1940. Aged 74 years and three months. On March the second, 1884, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Bell Parsons. And to this union were born 12 children. Six of them have preceded their father in death. The deceased is survived by his companion, one son and five daughters: Carl Sayre of Wheeling W. Va., Mrs. J. M. Cottrill of Vinton, Ohio, Mrs. J. S. Cottrill of Ewington, Ohio, Mrs. E. L. Cottrill of Ewington, Ohio, Mrs. W. H. Bourgeois of Ripley, W. Va., Mrs. L. J. Snotgrass of Akron, Ohio. In addition to these children, he is survived by 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Some four years ago, Brother Sayre accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Personal Saviour and was baptized. And in triumphant faith he went bravely into the Valley of Shadows to be forever with the Lord. ""No terror has death or the grave To those who believe in the Lord--Who know the Redeemer can save And lean on the faith of his word; While ashes to ashes and dust to dust We give unto dust in our gloom The Light of Salvation we trust Which hangs like a lamp in the tomb.
