Information: Jimmie Kenneth Butch Sayre, 69, of Cottageville, departed this life Saturday, December 22, 2007, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness. He was born February 20, 1938, at Cottageville, a son of the late Fred L. and Marie Ankrum Sayre. He was a United States Army veteran, a retired oiler and member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #132. He was a musician playing the dobro in numerous local bluegrass bands and was a member of the Jackson County Fox Chasers Association. Survivors include his wife Odell McCollum Goodwin Sayre; stepsons Charlie Ray Spencer of McArthur, OH; Ronald Richard Goodwin and Kevin Lee Goodwin both of Cottageville and Rev. Bradley Joe Goodwin of Evans; stepdaughters Carolyn Marie Mitchell of Frozen Camp and Debra Lee Conley of Sandyville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Robert, Henry, Samuel Bud, Reuben, Glenn and Freddie Lee and sisters Imogene Dean and Joann West. Service at Casto Funeral Home in Evans and burial at Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville with military honors provided by the Jackson County veterans organizations.
