Information: PRESIDENT OF COUNTY COURT DIES/RITES WILL BE HELD AT OTTERBEIN - Jesse Wade Sayre, President of the County Court of Jackson county, died at his home in Sandyville on Sunday at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 11 days. He had been seriously ill for the past month, had undergone one serious operation and death had been expected. The funeral service will be held at Otterbein this (Wednesday) afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. Armour Sayre will conduct the service and burial with the Vail undertakers in charge will be in the Otterbein cemetery. The Masonic Lodge will conduct ritualistic rites at the graveside. Mr. Sayre was born at Evans on May 14, 1883, a son of Lafayette and Nancy Lewis Sayre. On April 22, 1908, he married Miss Cora Skidmore and they have lived at Sandyville for many years where he conducted a general store. He was the President of the Ravenswood Wholesale Grocery Company, a Mason, an Odd Fellow and a member of the Royal Arch Chapter of Jackson county. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Cora Sayre; 3 sons, Darrell of Sandyville, Wade of Whittier, Calif., and James O. Sayre of Charleston; two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Somerville of Glenville and Mrs. Helen Waybright of Bellaire, Ohio; four brothers, Finley of Gaston, Ind., Wirt of Yorktown, Ind., Mel of Evans and Edgar of Parkersburg; a sister, Mrs. Alberta Shinn of Evans and two grandchildren. Mr. Sayre was first appointed a member of the county court when the late J. C. Fisher resigned. He was elected for a full six year term in 1950. The county court will fill the vacancy caused by his death and the appointment will run to the general election in November at which time a member will be elected to fill the unexpired term which has two years to run.
