Information: Funeral services were held Sunday at Vail Funeral Home in Ripley for Gerald L. Sayre, 49, of Chicago, Ill, formerly of Jackson County, who died Wednesday in Chicago after a short illness.  He was the son of Gerald Ted Sayre of Ripley.  He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.  Additional survivors: wife, Mrs. Lorene Sayre; brother, Thomas of Wadsworth, Ohio; sisters, Mrs. Doris Stewart of Youngstown, Ohio, Mrs. Donna Woodard of Cottageville, W. Va., Mrs. Beverly Wilson and Mrs. Judith Chisler, both of Rittman, Ohio, Mrs. Cecilia Rock and Mrs. Elaine Fox, both of Wadsworth, Ohio, Mrs. Debra Schoffler of Brighton, Mich.  The Rev. William Eaton officiated and burial was in Otterbein Cemetery at Evans.
