Information: FORMER AUTO DEALER CLAIMED BY DEATH - Death claimed Fred B. Sayre, 86, North Church St., Ripley, Tuesday Dec. 2, at Jackson General Hospital following an extended illness. He was founder of Fred Sayre Motor Ford dealership in Ripley and operated it for 50 years. At one time, he was the leading Ford dealer in West Virginia. He was a charter member of the Jackson General Hospital board of directors, serving until his death. He was a 50-year member of Ripley Lodge No. 16 AF & AM, the I.O.O.F. No 30 Lodge, the Moose Lodge of Pt. Pleasant, and the Nemesis Temple of Parkersburg. He was born May 7, 1900, at Evans, the son of the late Jeff and Mary Reynolds Sayre. Surviving are his wife, Audrey Landfried Sayre, Ripley; one brother, Orville, Ripley. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dorsel. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 5, 2 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Harold Custer and the Rev. Orville Walker officiating. Burial will be at Otterbein Cemetery, Evans, with Masonic grave side rites. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday.
