Information: Parkersburg News - Faye Elizabeth Starcher Sayre, 95, of Vienna, passed away at Camden-Clark Memorial Hopital on April 27, 2009.  She was born on March 24, 1914, in Ripley, W. Va., a daughter of the late William Paul and Golda Laurina ""Becky"" Hill Starcher.  Faye was a 1930 graduate from Union High School in Cottageville, W. Va. and also a graduate from Marshall College in Huntington, W. Va.  She was a teacher at Goff Primary School in Jackson County.  She was also involved in the Girl Scouts of America as a leader and camp director, and a Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years.  Faye had been a member of the Vienna EUB (St. John's) and later joined First Lutheran Church, where she was a member for 40 years.       Faye is survived by her husband of 70 years, F. Wayne Sayre; daughters, Karen Faye Kehrli and husband, Wayne of Bradenton, Fla., and Diane Lee Bower and husband, David, of Washington, W. Va.; grandchildren, Steven Wayne Kehrli and wife, Stephanie, of Seattle, Wash., Anne Elizabeth Novakoski and husband, Jeffrey of Erie, Pa., Melinda Lee Bower and fiance, Peter Mueller, of Cincinnati, Michael Glenn Bower and wife, Natasha, of Raleigh, N. C. and Molly Ann Balsley and husband, Lucas, of Fairfax, Va.; great-grandchildren, Calvin Alexander Kehrli and Nolan Grant Kehrli, both of Seattle, Jackson Glenn Bower, born on April 27, 2009, in Raleigh, N. C.; brother, Louis E. Starcher of Vienna; sister, Glenna M. Lewis of Lexington, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Myrtle and Paul Martinelli, Becky Roten and Mary Dakesian of Comfort Keepers.  In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Hughes, Lorene Starcher, Helen ""Kay"" Miller and Josephine Ruth Starcher; and brother, Keith Hill Starcher.      A celebration of her life and faith will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg with Pastor Roger Harms and Pastor Stan Golden officiating.  Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.  The family requests that those wishing to express condolences do so by making memorial contributions to First Lutheran Church, 1701 19th St., Parkersburg  or the Humane Society, Parkersburg.  Condolences may also be sent to the family by visiting LeavittFuneralHome.com.
