  <p>Information: E. Tom Sayre, 88, of Cottageville, died Friday, May 15, 1987, in Jackson General Hospital after a short illness.  He was a farmer and a 50-year member of Eastern Star and 60-year member of Masonic Lodge.  He was a former member of Jackson County Board of Education and was a machinist for White Motor Co., and a former rural mail carrier and teacher.  Surviving:  wife, Edna Katherine Webster Sayre; daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Sayre Scarberry of Cottageville; sister, Mrs. Ocie Sayre Marx of Lansing, Mich.  Service was held Sunday in Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Stanley Skeens officiating.  Burial was in Otterbein Cemetery, near Evans, with Masonic graveside rites.</p>
