Information: David Wesley Sayre, 80, formerly of Ripley, Jackson county, died at the home of his son, the Rev. David Sayre at Smithburg, W. Va. after an extensive illness.  He was the son of David and Marthena Sayre and for a number of years he was a notary public and county surveyor in Jackson county.  He was also a life-long member of the Otterbine U. B. church.  His wife, Mary Barnett Sayre, preceded him in death in 1915.  Surviving are the following children:  Mrs. Iva Stewart, Ablie E. Sayre and Hobert B. Sayre, all of Leon, W. Va., Mrs. Birdie Sharp of Marlington, W. Va., Mrs. Nellie B. Trader of Columbus, Ohio and the Rev. David Sayre of Smithburg, W. Va.  Also surviving are ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Long View church near Ripley, W. Va., with the Rev. Dr. F. H. Capehart officiating.  Interment will take place in the family cemetery adjoining the church.  The body will be removed to the son's residence Thursday at 1 p.m.  The J. C. Smith funeral home of West Union, W. Va. will be in charge of arrangements.
