Information: Funeral services for C. Homer Sayre, 72, were held from his home in Chester, WV on Monday with the Rev. A. F. Hanes officiating and the burial was in the Locust Hill Cemetery in that city. Mr. Sayre, a retired potter, died at his home there Thursday following a long illness. He was born June 28, 1876 in Ripley and had lived in Chester since 1900. He was an oddman for the Taylor, Smith & Taylor Company, when he retired in 1936. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Nova M. Sayre; four daughters, Mrs. Florence Blankenship of Chester, Mrs. Mildred Gill of Large, Pa., and Twiyla Sayre and Lois Sayre at home; four sons, Chester, Herman, Raymond and Cecil Sayre, all of Chester; a sister, Mrs. Almanda Corell of Alliance, Ohio; six brothers, Richard, Walter and Samuel Sayre, all of Chester, Benjamin Sayre of Zanesville, Oscar Sayre of Wayne, Michigan, and Albert Sayre of Huntington, and 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
