Information: Roger Neil Boggess, 67, of Liverpool, passed away at Jackson General Hospital Friday morning, October 28, 2011, following an extended illness. He was born December 19, 1944 in Jackson County, son of the late Clifton Harlan and Virginia Dunham Boggess. Roger was a graduate of the final class of Gilmore High School. He was an Army veteran and a member of Local 132 of the International Brotherhood of Operating Engineers, where he retired as a heavy equipment operator. He was a Christian, a member of the Pleasant Grove Church, and worked with residents of the extended care unit at Roane General Hospital, a ministry he loved. He also loved the outdoors and was dedicated to his family. Surviving: his wife of 45 years, Anna Marie Wayne Boggess; son, Robbie Neil Boggess (Elizabeth) of Fairplain; a grandson raised as a son, Cody Goodrich; daughter, Lisa Simms (Berkley) of Silverton; brothers, Clifton and Dave Boggess of Ravenswood, Charles Boggess of Kenna and Rodney Boggess of Indiana; sisters, Linda Compton of Ohio, Carolyn Love of Ohio, Helen Watkins of Ohio, Irene June Hill Boggess of Pennsylvania and Sandra Barres of Ohio; cousins, Tina and Ralph Dunham; brother-in-law, Jerry Hamrick; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by sisters, Sue Hamrick and Laura Ann Stout and brother, Cecil Boggess. Funeral services were Monday, October 31, 2011 at 1 pm at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor John Ellis officiating. Interment was in Liverpool Church Cemetery.
