Information: Benjamin Franklin Sayre, an aged citizen of Evans, passed to his reward last Saturday after an illness of long duration due to the general infirmities of his advanced age. .......For thirty years, he served the people of Union district as a justice of the peace...... He was born at the old Sayre homestead at Evans, October 23, 1844. Early in life he married Mary Sayre and to this union eight children were born and six of them survive him: Homer Sayre, Parkersburg; Blanche Hogsett, Beaver, Pa.; Mrs. K.M. Click, Ravenswood; Stella Wedge, Baden, W. Va., and Joseph and Eph Sayre of Evans. One child, Teresa died in infancy and one son B. F. Sayre, Jr. died in November 1925. The funeral services were held at Otterbein Monday aftaernoon at two o'clock by Rev. J. T. Foster, former district superintendent of the U. B. Church and interment was made in the church cemetery.
