Information: SAYRE RITES AT OTTERBEIN- WIFE OF FORMER COURT MEMBER DIES IN LOCAL HOSPITAL - Funeral services for Mrs. Arkie Ann Sayre, wife of former County Commissioner G. H. Sayre of Cottageville, were held from the Otterbein Church Saturday afternoon with Rev. Roy Davis in charge and burial was in the Otterbein Cemetery.  Mrs. Sayre, ill for several months, died at a Ripley hospital late Wednesday evening.  Her condition had been critical for several days prior to her death and death had been expected.  The Ralph Bush undertaking establishment of Mt. Alto had charge of the funeral arrangements.  At the funeral service Rev. Davis read the following obituary:  Arkie Anne Dulin, daughter of Kingsbury and Hulda V. Dulin was born near Mt. Alto, W. Va on February 26, 1873 and lived her entire life in Jackson county.  She died in the Starcher Hospital at Ripley, W. Va., May 20, 1942 at the age of 69 years.  She was converted and joined the Mt. Hebron U. B. Church at the age of 14 years, but later transferred her membership to the Antioch U. B. Church.  She was united in marriage to George Harvey Sayre on December 1, 1894 and to this union three children were born:  Bessie Leone, Essie Opal and Paul Dulin.  She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. C. T. Meredith, her son, Paul. eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ors Smith of Flat Rock, Ill and Mrs. Nettie Moss of Los Angeles, Calif.  One daughter, Essie Opal, preceded her in death 13 years ago as well as her parents and two brothers.  She was devoted to her family and home and although her health was poor for several years, she was very active and continued her usual work until a few weeks before her death.  She left a message for each absent member of her family and asked that they all meet her in that better world beyond.
