Information: MRS. ELIJAH SAYRE STRICKEN SUDDENLY   EVANS LADY DIES SUDDENLY MONDAY EVENING, FUNERAL AT LONGVIEW TUESDAY by Hazel Casto   The sudden death of Mrs. Alpina Sayre, wife of Elijah Sayre, Monday evening was quite a shock to this community.  Mrs. Sayre had been in good health with the exception of a heart ailment for which she was taking medicine.  At 10 p.m. while sitting on their rear porch talking with her husband, Mrs. Sayre suddenly became ill and asked her husband to bring her a dose of her medicine from the kitchen.  Upon coming from the house Mr. Sayre noticed that she had slumped in her chair and immediately called their nearest neighbor, O. A. Brooks.  Mr. and Mrs. Brooks arrived immediately followed by C. A. Hill, who rushed to the nearest telephone and called Dr. Rymer but before the doctor arrived Mrs. Sayre died.  Mr. Hill then drove to Ripley and notified the children of Mr. and Mrs. Sayre, who reside in Akron, Ohio by long distance telephone. Ralph Mills, of Vail's Funeral Home was called to take charge and arrangements were made immediately for interment in the Longview cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Sayre had lived her entire life in our community and was a lady of Christian character, one to whom we all could go for advice and feel that she would not tell us wrong.  Her life has been an inspiration to many and she will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Sayre passed the sixtieth milestone of life but a few weeks ago and on her birthday, while giving her testimony at church, remarked that she had spent her entire life working for her Master and that if she should live sixty more years she would still be for Him. The deceased is survived by her husband, Elijah Sayre, and the following children:  Delbert Sayre, Walter Sayre, Mrs. Mark Hill, Mrs. Albert FGrey, Mrs. Ivan Pritt and Miss Lola Sayre , all of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. Waldo Hunt, of Cottageville, and a host of other relatives and friends.   (Maiden name Anderson, born March 1873)
