Information: SAYRE RITES HELD MONDAY- FUNERAL FOR WELL KNOWN RIPLEY RESIDENT AT OTTERBEIN - Funeral services for Mr. A. D. (Della) Sayre, 77 year old Ripley resident, were held at the Otterbein church Monday afternoon with Rev. Harry Miller of the Ripley United Brethren church in charge, and burial was in the church cemetery.  Mr. Sayre, who retired from farming several years ago and came to Ripley, died at his home Saturday afternoon after an illness of only a few days although he had been in failing health for a number of years.  His death had not been expected and came as a shock to the family and his many friends.  He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Holly M. Casto of Ripley, Mrs. P. F. Highsmith of Vienna, Mrs. Hobart D. Crum of Evans, Mrs. Walter Hunt of Evans and Miss Belva Sayre at home.  Also one brother, Abe Sayre of Evans, RFD.  A. D. Sayre, son of George and Isabelle Casto Sayre was born on Parchment Creek, September 15, 1867 and died at Ripley, West Virginia, August 12, 1944, aged seventy-six years, ten months and twenty-seven days.
