Information: Isabelle Elizabeth Stone Sargent, 78, of Ripley, departed this life March 29, 2007 at Saint Francis Hospital, Charleston, follwoing an extended illness.  She was born July 18, 1928 in Ripley, a daughter of the late Fred and Erma Pringle Stone.  She graduated from Ripley High School in 1946 and from Morris Harvey College in Charleston in 1960.  She began teaching at the age of 18 in a one-room schoolhouse including McKinley, Mount Moriah, Bethel, Rising Sun, Elmwood, Joe's Run and Mud Run.  She also taught at Ripley Elementary School and then continued her vocation as a personal tutor.  From the age of 13, she was a devout Christian and a friend to many people.  She was a member of the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church where she has sang in the church choir.  She and her husband enjoyed attending many churches and revivals in the area.  She had been a breast cancer survivor since 1971.  She was a member of the Farm Women's Club at Given, the Jackson County Poetry Society, the Lee Mays Poetry Club, the Writer's Guild and the Jackson County Historical Society.  She was also a member fo the Retired Teacher's Association and an avid member of the Jackson County Wild Foods Group.  Isabelle helped many people during her busy and active life and was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Survivors include her loving husband of almost 57 years James Leo Sargent; her only child Elizabeth Ann Riggs and husband Gary Lee of Sandyville; grandson Gary James Riggs and wife Kristy of Sandyville; granddaughter Carrie Elizabeth Riigs Miihlbach and husband Jason of Medina; great-grandsons Brandt Riggs and Colton Riggs; great-granddaughter Emily Riggs; brothers Marion Stone of Coolville, OH; Charles Stone and wife Donna of Little Hocking, OH; and Ruth Ann Nutter of Coolville, OH; many nieces and nephews and cousins and loving and thoughtful friends and acquaintances.  She will be deeply missed.  Service at Casto Funeral Home, Evans.  Burial at Fairplain Cemetery, Fairplain.
