Information: SANDS FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY - Luther E. Sands, 66, of Rockport, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph's Hospital at 9:15 p.m. Saturday.  President of the Butcher Hill Hunt Club, Mr. Sands was presiding at a meeting of the club when he became ill and an ambulance was called.  He was born in Jackson county March 11, 1897, son of H. W. and Ella Davis Sands, and had lived in the Jackson and Wood county areas throughout his life.  Mr. Sands was a retired principal and teacher of the Wood county school system. He had taught in the ........Tygart District Schools and was a veteran of World War I.  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Goldie Carothers Sands; a daughter, Mrs. Ella Bokovitz, Ravenswood; two brothers, W. D. Sands, Parkersburg and L. A. Sands, Rockport;  a sister, Mrs. Olive Carter of Breckenridge, Mich.; four grandchildren, Vickie, Joe Paul, Matthew and John Michael Bokovitz, all of Ravenswood.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, James amd Grady Sands.  Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Rockport Methodist Church.  The Rev. Seldon Scott and the Rev. Forrest Campbell officiated and burial was in the Limestone cemetery.
