  <p>Information: RIPLEY - Roland Lee Sams, 60, Ripley, departed this world on August 7, 2011 in South Charleston.  Roland was born on July 22, 1951 in Ripley, the son of Raymond F. Sams and Esther Pearl Wilson Sams.  He loved the outdoors, especially fishing.  He enjoyed CB Radios and loved playing guitar and singing. He attended the Ravenswood Second Baptist Church and Sydneyville Church.  Surviving is his fiancee, Jean Clem; children, Libby Miller, Ripley, Diane Sams, Ripley, and Stephen Miller, Apple Grove OH; five grandchildren, Charles, Jessica, Alisha, Curtis and Breanna; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Frank Sams of Ravenswood, Barbara Hutchinson of Sandyville, Homer Sams of Mason, Essie Stephenson of Mansfield, Joan Anderson of Gay, Violet Kay of Ripley and Carry Mullinex of Ravenswood; special friend, Virginia, of Evans; 31 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Raymond and Esther Sams, grandparents, Thomas and Ida Mae Sams, brothers, Raymond Sams and Ronald Sams, sisters, Sherry Sams and Mary Saffel, preceded him in death. Service is 1 pm Wednesday, August 10, at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood.  Burial will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery.  Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 10, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, time of service.  Condolences may be expressed to the family by email at roush94@yahoo.com. or on our website at www.joeroushfuneralhome.com.</p>
