Information: James A. Salser, 88, of Ravenswood, passed away May 14. 2012 in Rock Springs Rehabilitation Center, Pomeroy OH. Arrangements are pending at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood. Ravenswood News - 5/17/2012- James Addison Salser, 88, of Ravenswood, Jackson County WV, passed away May 14, 2012 in Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center, Pomeroy OH. He was born August 16, 1923 in Ravenswood WV, a son of the late Otmer Wade and Mayme Virginia (Rector) Salser. His son, James Salser, Jr.; sister, Maxine DeWitt; and three brothers, Paul, Duane, and Ralph Salser, also preceded him in death. He was a retired truck driver for Boso & Ritchie Construction and S. J. Groves and Sons Transfer. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 175, Parkersubrg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting wood. Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Zahrndt) Salser; son, Joseph Lee Salser of Maryville TN; daughters, Candida Nichol Salser and Sandra Jean Headley and her husband, Roy, all of Ravenswood; brothers, Herald Salser and Robert Salser, both of Fairborn OH; sisters, Phyllis Palmer, Inez Crow, and Ruth Thompson, all of Ravenswood, Eilene Weekley of Medina, and Betty Shockey of Fairborn OH; grandchildren, James Daniel Salser, Roy Headley II, Anita Salser, Jennifer Cowen and Cheryl Salser; great-grandchildren, Timmy Griffith, Roy Michael Headley, Abby Cowen and Jack Cowen and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 2 pm Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Ravenswood Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Stewart officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 2 pm Thursday, May 17 at the Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood WV.
