Information: A. G. SALLAZ MEETS SUDDEN DEATH FRIDAY - A. G. Sallaz, age 70, died at his home in Ripley Friday morning about 9:30 o'clock. Funeral services were held at the United Brethren Church Sunday morning. Robinson assisted by Rev. Fred Slaughter. Burial in the Shinn cemetery. Mr. Sallaz was taken suddenly with a stroke while working in his blacksmith shop. He was hurried to his home where he passed away a few minutes later. Mr. Sallaz was stricken while shoeing a horse. He was noticed by some persons in his shop to let the horse's foot down suddenly and lean over against the animal and when asked what was wrong he replied that it must be a stroke. He was helped to a chair and Dr. G. W. Simmons was called. He was taken to his home and Dr. T. E. Rymer was also called but nothing could be done. Mr. Sallz was born and spent alll his life in this county. He was one of the county's well known citizens. He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter. The sons are Hobart Sallaz of Akron, Ohio, and Otho Sallaz, at home. The daughter, Mrs. Elmer Casto of Akron. Also surviving him are three grandchildren and the following brothers: J. M. Sallaz and W. M. Sallaz of near Ripley, A. P. Sallaz of Freemansburg and V. S. Sallaz of Vinton, Othio. Two other brothers preceded him in death and two died in infancy. He was the youngest of a large family. Mr. Sallaz was in his usual good health, cheerful and happy until taken by the stroke.
