Information: Death came to John F. (Flem) Rymer at his Ripley home about 8:00 o'clock Sunday night.  He was 72 years old and had been ill of a heart ailment for about six months.  The funeral service was held from the Ripley Evangelical United Brethren church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Herbert Roush of Mannington officiating and the burial was in the Pine Hill cemetery with the Vail undertakers in charge of the arrangements.  Mr. Rymer was born at Cottageville on December 9, 1878, a son of the late Rev. Thomas H. and Allie Hover Rymer.  He spent his entire life in Jackson county and was a painter and interior decorator by trade and one of the best in this section of the state.  He was a member of the United Brethren church and the Ripley I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 30.  He was always active in civic enterprises and was widely known throughout all Jackson county.  Survivors include his widow, Margie Rymer; a son, John Jr. Rymer of Parkersburg; a brother, Dr. T. E. Rymer of Ripley; a sister, Mrs. Ora Starcher also of Ripley and one grandchild, Barbara Rymer of Parkersburg.  His first wife, Mrs. Cornelia Rymer and a daughter, Mildred, preceded him in death.
