Information: Edward David Rowan, son of Archibald and Sarah McCreary Rowan was born October 11, 1873 and departed this life at Navarre, Ohio, May 29, 1940, at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 17 days.  His death was sudden and came as a shock to the family.  The youngest of eleven children, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters:  Elizabeth Balser of Beaver Falls, Penna., A. W. Rowan of Breckinridge, Mo., Addie Bailey of Parkersburg, W. Va. and William Rowan of Salem, Ohio.  On September 25, 1898, he was married to Mary King, who preceded him in death November 13, 1923.  To this union were born seven children, all surviving and as follows:  Charles of Columbus, O., Dana, Roy and Ralph of Midvale, O., Harold of Navarre, O., Donald of Pittsburgh, Penna., and Elsie of Canton, O. There are eight grandchildren.  One more to rest beneath the sod, One more standing before his God, We should not weep that he is gone For us 'tis night, for him 'tis morn.  Funeral services were held at the Flatwoods church conducted by the Rev. W. I. Fiber of Cottageville, and interment was made in Flatwoods cemetery.
