Information: AGED CITIZEN DIES THURSDAY - J. F. Rogers, aged 82, died Thursday morning at 3:30 o'clock a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. H. Ross at Beech Grove.  Death was due to advanced age.  He was born at New Port Washington, Ohio.  He was converted at the age of 16 years and joined the free M. E. Church, in which faith he died.  In 1876 he was united in marriage with Miss Rebecca J. Sands, and to this union eight children were born.  His wife preceded him to the Great Beyond in 1895, and after a year, he married Mrs. Laura Barnes.  To this union four children were born, three of whom are still living.  He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Eliza Maxon of Fort Collins, Colorado and the following children:  Mrs. P. M. Hendershot of Parkersburg, Mrs. W. H. Ross, at whose home he died, Mrs. H. L. McKee of Washington, W. Va., Mrs. J. H. Alexander of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Glen Grace of Venard Haven, Michigan, Mrs. Clarence Griffitt of Arkansas, Roy C. Rogers of Medina, W. Va. Everett of Mineral Wells, W. Va. , Earl M. lof New Philadelphia, Ohio and Pearl and Dale of Parkersburg.  Also, 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of friends survive.  He bore his afflictions patiently until the end.  The funeral was held Saturday at the Simpson church at 10:30 o'clock with the Rev. J. C. Swain of Silverton in charge of the services.
