Information:      Throughout her battle with Alzheimer’s, Fern Marie’s daily question was, “Are we going to Heaven today?”  She was rewarded with her request with her passing Sunday, June 22, 2003.  She was 86 years of age, born April 22, 1917, at Kenna to the late Delmer Good and Orla Anne Skeen Good.  She was also the stepdaughter of the late Nellie Duff Good.  She was preceded in death on October 17, 2002, by her husband of 63 years, David Bernard Rogers, whom she married November 11, 1939.  She was a lifetime homemaker and was also a school teacher in Jackson County for many years.  She attended First Church United Methodist in Dunbar.  She is survived by her only child and caregiver, Betty Jo Rogers of Dunbar; and her sister, Mildred Mathews of Buena Vista, VA; special friends, Judy and Joe Kirtner; and caring neighbors, Winona Lawson, the Philip Willis family and Katherine Hill.  Service at Keller Funeral Home and burial at Fairplain Cemetery, Fairplain.
