Information: CANCER CLAIMS FORMER EDUCATOR - Jo Clare Robinson, 67, 353 Highlawn Drive, Ripley, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 1991, at Jackson General Hospital after a lengthy illness. A Ripley native, she was the daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. Lewis H. Miller. She was the wife of James J. Robinson, president of Bank of Ripley. She retired from the Jackson County School System where she was a teacher at Ripley Middle and Ripley Elementary Schools. She was director of the boys chorus at Ripley Elementary School for a number of years. She was a teacher in Kanawha County prior to her tenure in Jackson County. Mrs. Robinson was a 1940 graduate of Ripley High School and a 1944 graduate of West Virginia University where she earned a degree in music. She was a member of Chi Omega social sorority. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, past president of Episcopal Church Women's Guild and church organist. Survivors in addition to her husband, include a son, Jay Lewis Robinson of Ripley; one granddaughter, Molly Jane Robinson, Ripley; two sisters, Ruth Lee Oliver, Hurricane and Dot Nichols, Ripley. Services were held Tuesday morning, 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Elizabeth A. Walker officiating. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery.
