Information: Selly Edwin Robie, 84, of Charleston, passed away July 24, 2003, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after a short illness. He retired from American Electric Power in 1984 with 38 years of service, where he served as right-of-way maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Charleston Baptist Temple, and was a past deacon. He was a World War II Army veteran, served in the Pacific Theatre, and was a member of the American Legion. He was a devoted family man and loving grandfather who also loved nature and the outdoors. Surviving: wife of 57 years, Mildred Hannum Robie; daughters, Michell Robie Bogan and her husband, Michael of Columbus, Ohio, Rebecca Robie of Charleston; sons, Randall E. Robie and wife, Mary, of Powell, Ohio, Daniel C. Robie and wife, Donna of Kannapolis, N. C.; grandchildren, Catherine and Christopher Bogan, both of Columbus, Andrew and Diana Perfater, both of Charleston, E. Michael and Nikole Robie, both of Hurricane, W. Va., Matthew Robie of Kannapolis; brother, Raleigh E. Robie of Mason, W. Va.; sister, Marie Conus of Rockford, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 28, at Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Donald Loudermilk officiating. Burial will be at Otterbein Cemetery, Evans, W. Va. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Wilson Funeral Home, 420 Lee St. West, Charleston, is in charge of arrangements.
