  <p>Information: Bernice Counts Roberts, 89-year-old widow of Earl Roberts, died Sunday, September 8, 2002, at her residence.  She was born October 17, 1912, in Kentuck WV, a daughter of the late Cannan Counts and Ida Garrett Counts.  She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a former member of St Johns United Methodist Church in Aiken SC for 33 years, as well as president of the St. Johns United Methodist Women in Aiken and was a former Orangeburg District Officer of the United Methodist Women.  She was very active in the quilting group of the church.  Surviving are three sons, Wendell L. Counts of Belpre OH, Ronald R. Roberts of Jensen Beach FL, and Gary A. Roberts of Raleigh NC; two daughters, Karen Owens Mumpower of Augusta GA and Theda Roberts Coker of Walterboro; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Earl Roberts.  Funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Aiken Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. M. Eugene Millikin and directed by Rivers Funeral Home in Aiken.  Memorials may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church, to Bethel United Methodist Church, Walterboro SC, or to Palmetto Health Hospice, Summerville SC.</p>
