Information: J. A. Ripley died Saturday, September 27th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. A. Young, at 919 Twelfth street, Huntington, W. Va. He was born in April 1850 at Buckhannon. Mr. Ripley was a charter member of the Ripley Lodge No. 30 I.O.O.F. and one of the founders of M. E. Church of this place. He is survived by six children: Mrs. R. L. Wilson of Greenup, Ky., Mrs. H. S. Progler of Ironton, Mrs. J. B. McGrew and Mrs. J. A. Young of Huntington, J. F. and O. D. Ripley of Clarksburg. His wife, who was Miss Ella Hall, preceded him several years ago. They were former residents of this place, where their children grew to manhood and womanhood. The remains accompanied by relatives and friends arrived here Monday night and funeral services were conducted Wednesay morning at ten o'clock at the M. E. church by Rev. H. K. Riffe. Those attending the funeral of Mr. Ripley from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Progler and daughter of Ironton, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Ripley of Clarksburg, Mrs. Fred Ripley, of Clarksburg, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Young and son, Mr. and Mrs. James Hagenbuck and Mrs. J. B. McGrew of Huntingon, Mrs. R. L. Wilson, Greenup, Ky.
