Her grand daughter, Virginia, was not present, as she is traveling in California. Mrs. Riley has lived all of her life in Ripley, except three years in Florida and eleven years in Point Pleasant. Mrs. Riley was a consistent, loyal, christian woman. Joining the Southern Methodist Church at the age of 12 years, she was ever faithful to her Lord. In conversation with her brother, Holly G. Armstrong, in the year of 1899, she said: ""We must plan to build a new church."" And her brother answered, ""I have thought of the same thing"". So they planned and with the help of seven members, who were interested and aided by the pastor, Rev. Sam Robinson, and his wife, Epworth Church was built. She was ever busy in the church, and the Missionary Society was her hobby. SHE BELIEVED IN MISSIONS. She was a home builder. Her home in Ripley and Point Pleasant was a delight to her many friends, and especially those she loved and were dear to her. The door of her home was never locked, one could just walk in and chat and lunch, as she was ever ready to serve. Mrs. Riley was a woman with a firm character. She always said. ""There is a right and a wrong. No middle road"". Mrs. Riley's death was sudden. She retired at twelve on Friday night, and her son found her in the long, last sleep Saturday morning. So a beautiful character and a loving mother has passed to the ""Land on High"". Mrs. W. M. Pfost, L. N. Casto, R. R. Hyre, Paul King sang, ""Come Thous Disconsolate"" and ""Lead Kindly Light"".
