  <p>Information: Hiram, Riffle, 61 year old resident of Sandyville, died in a local hospital Tuesday morning from a leg infection.  He was brought from his home to the hospital Sunday.  Two sons survive.  Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Hertje with burial in that cemetery.  The J. B. Vail Undertaking establishment was in charge.   {Herald Oct. 06, 1939}                                                                                                                                                    Hiram Riffle was born in Mason County, Oct. 5, 1873, son of David and Lida Riffle.  He was united in marriage to Charity Elma Bowman and to this union six children were born.  His wife and two children preceded him in death several years ago.  The following survive:  Delbert of Sandyville, Ann J. Pickens of Murraysville, Emma Pickens of Sharonville, Ohio, and Mildred Braham of Ravenna, Ohio.  Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, one brother and one sister and a host of other relatives and friends.
