Information: Frederic Hood Rhodes, 72, of Cottageville, passed away Friday, October 12, 2007, at Cottageville.  He was born January 14, 1935, a son of the late John H. Rhodes Sr. and Helen E. Hood Rhodes.  He was a graduate of Ravenswood High School and the Pennsylvania Institute of Criminology. He also completed an extension course at Marshall University in Police Officer Training. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a member of the 81st Fighter Bomber Squadron in Bentwaters, England. He was Chief Deputy Sheriff of Jackson County from 1965-68 and was employed at the State Department in Charleston prior to his retirement. Survivors include his wife Rose Rhodes; sister Patricia Prouse of Cottageville; stepchildren Beverly Lively of Ravenswood and William Walters of Florida; niece Jennifer Parker of Washington, WV and nephew John Patrick Rhodes of Cottageville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers John L. Rhodes and John H. Rhodes, Jr.  Service at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood.
