Information: Allen Taylor Reynolds, son of the late James and Angeline Reynolds, was born within two miles of his late residence, near Oak Hill, on September 8, 1848, and departed this life November 5, 1925, at 6:28 a.m., aged 77 years 1 month and 27 days. On March 6, 1871, he was united in marriage to Henrietta Catherine Staats, to which union seven children were born--Mrs. Emma Pfost, Fairplain; B. F. Reynolds, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Miss Hannah Reynolds, Ripley; J. M. Reynolds, Charleston; Mrs. Nellie LePage, Putney; J. T. Reynolds, Charleston; Mrs. Mary Filicsky, Blair, W. Va., and a foster son, Frank Reynolds, of Akron, Ohio, all of whom are survivors and all were by his bedside at the time of his departure, except two who arrived later. At the age of nineteen he found peace with his Savior and united with the U. B. church, to which he has always been a faithful member. He was an honest man, a good neighbor, a true loving companion, and one of the best fathers ever known. He was highly respected by all who knew him. For three years he had been in declining health, but he bore it all with perfect patience, and a few hours before his spirit took its flight his speech was restored to him and he talked with family and friends, assuring them he was soon going home to heaven and requesting them to all meet him around God's bright throne.
