Information: Okey Denzil Redman, 76, of Kenna, passed from this life Friday morning, March 2, 2012, at CAMC Memorial Division following an extended illness. He was born September 19, 1935 in Kenna, son of the late Wilmer and Orva Fisher Redman. Denzil worked at True Temper Corporation; was a dairy farmer; formerly drove a bulk milk truck, picking up canned milk from area farms; and was retired from the Jackson County Board of Education as a bus driver. He was a member of Warren Chapel Church; Kenna Grange; Ripley Masonic Lodge; and a past president of the Jackson County Commission on Aging. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Jean Redman, in 2007; and his son-in-law, Elvin Moore. Surviving are his son, Chuck Redman of Kenna; daughter, Cathy Moore of Kenna; grandchildren, Adrienna Moore, Chrissy and Bumper Taylor, Patrick and Savanna Moore and Valarie and Opie Taylor; great-grandchildren, Travis and Tenley Taylor and Hunter Taylor; and extended loved ones, Johnny Vance, Susan DeWees and Shiela Randolph. Funeral service will be 11 am Monday at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Danny Cummings and Lloyd Keith officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery, Sissonville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Donations honoring Denzil may be made to the Warren Chapel Church or Kenna Grange, in lieu of flowers.
