Information: William Kenna Rector, age 90, died on Sunday, December 13, 1998 at the Ravenswood Village Care Center as a result of a fall suffered at his home on October 14.  He was born to the late Darrell and Leura Safreed Rector on January 8, 1908, at Sherman WV (Jackson County).  Ken was married to Dorothy McCoy Rector for 65 years until her death in 1993.  They were the parents of three children:  Connie Ritchie and husband, Bill, of Ravenswood, Nancy Short and husband, Allen, of Vincent, OH, and Bill Rector and wife, Beverly, of Vienna, VA.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, brother-in-laws, Burl Chambers of Ravenswood and Ronnie McCoy of St. Petersburg FL, 11 nieces and nephews.      Mr. Rector graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1927 and attended Marshall (College) University.  He was a local merchant, scoutmaster to B.S.A. Troop 44, a rural mail carrier, a city council member, a charter member of both the Ohio River Festival Committee and the Ravenswood Lions Club, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, a former Commander of the American Legion Post, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a former Sunday School Teacher.  Services will be held today (Wednesday), December 16, 1998, at Roush Funeral Home, 11:00 a.m., Ravenswood WV with the Rev. Ronald Brooks officiating.  Burial at Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dorothy Rector Scholarship Fund, c/o Westbanco Bank, 2 Wall Street, Ravenswood WV 26164, or the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Flinn Street, Ravenswood.    [additional story on front page of this issue]
