Information: LONG ILLNESS PROVES FATAL - Mrs. Iona V. Ray, wife of Robert H. Ray of Lothair, Kentucky, died at the Hazard hospital on Saturday, April 20, after an illness of more than a year from cancer of the liver.  She had been a patient in the hospital for more than a month.  Mrs. Ray was 74 years of age and was a native of Kentuck, Jackson county.  Mr. and Mrs. Ray left this county in 1902 and located at Hyden, Kentucky and in 1925 moved to Lothair where her husband was engaged in the drug business.  She was active in church work and community activities, interested in the schools and had a wide circle of friends in the section of Kentucky in which the family lived.  Funeral services were held at the Lothair Baptist church and burial was in the Englewood cemetery in that city.  She is survived by the husband and the following children, Mrs. J. B. Brown of Berryville, Arkansas, Guy O. Ray of Blue Diamond, Kentucky, Edna V. Begley of Texas, Faye R. Van Cleave of Berea Kentucky, Roy R. Ray of Dallas and J. C. Ray of Berea;  also one sister, Mrs. Verna B. Kiser of Kentuck; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Relatives from this section who went to Kentucky for the funeral included Mrs. Kiser, Orval, Otmer, Irene and Oral Kiser, and Mrs. Sibyl Winter, all of Kentuck.
