  <p>Information: Arvel G. Ray, Jr., 63, of Statts Mill, died Sunday at his residence.  He was born in Charleston, a son of the late Arvel Ray, Sr. and Macel Horn Ray.  He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.  He was a retired Du Pont construction superintendent, a World War II veteran in the U. S. Army, and a lifetime member of the NRA.  He is survived by his wife, Lydia Harless Ray; two sons, Roger L. Ray and Gerald L. Ray, both of Benton, AR; one daughter, Christina L. Dunbar of Sanford ME; and five grandchildren.  Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, at the Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley, with the Rev. Charles Echols officiating.  Burial will be in the Hill Cemetery, Julian WV.</p>
